ICFAI University was established in Dehradun, Uttarakhand in 2003 as a private University after the Government of Uttarakhand passed the ICFAI University Act 2003 (Act No.16 of 2003). Since then ICFAI University Dehradun was granted the status of State University. The University is recognised by University Grants Commission, and Government of Uttarakhand. ICFAI University conducts the following entrance Examinations for admission to various programs –

ILSAT (ICFAI Law School Admission Test) – This entrance Examination is conducted annually by ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad for the admission to B.B.A LL.B, B.A LL.B and LL.M programs. ILSAT is conducted on national-level through online mode. Candidates get 2 hours to solve a total 125 multiple choice questions in ILSAT. English, Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, GK/Current Affairs, and Analytical Reasoning has 25 questions each. ILSAT has 14 exam centers including Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Jodhpur, Chandigarh, Raipur, Kolkata, Ranchi, and Delhi – Gurgaon.

IBSAT (ICFAI Business Studies Aptitude Test) – IBSAT is conducted annually for admission to MBA and PhD programs. The exam is a computer based test which is held through online mode. It has 140 multiple choice questions with a 2 hour time duration. The medium of IBSAT is English. There is no negative marking in IBSAT. The exam includes questions of Verbal Ability, RC, Quant, and Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency.
